Unger Surveying & Construction Corp. was established in 2021 with a desire to meet the growing needs for surveying in the Tristate and Washington DC metropolitan areas. Owned and operated by Dave and Matt Unger, they bring over 50 years of surveying knowledge to help their clients achieve their vision and goals. We work tirelessly to meet our deadlines and commitments, whether it’s a boundary line determination for a fence, a location drawing, a full set of development plans, or a house remodel. We are equally committed to all our clients, serving them with quality, communication, and professional integrity.
Our Team
Dave Unger
My career started in 1983 as a part time summer job. Quickly realizing how much I enjoyed the work and I decided to make a career of it. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to continuously work in the industry growing my knowledge and understanding of the profession. I started as an entry level Chainman and over the years have held positions from Chainman to Vice President for a large Engineering and Surveying company. During the past 39 years I’ve led projects that included tunnel control for the DC METRO, high rise building control, large tract boundary survey’s, 3D scanning, site development, underground utility locations and surveys for homeowners. Since 1986 I’ve rehabbed and sold numerous houses and own and operate multiple rental properties doing most of the construction work myself. This new chapter allows me to balance my time in the field and office while working closely with my son Matt to meet all our client’s needs.

Matt Unger
Matt is co-owner of Unger Surveying & Construction with his father Dave Unger. At 15, Matt began working in the summers for a civil engineering and land surveying company. He started working full-time in 2011 and became a Professional Land Surveyor in 2021. Matt has an extensive technical background for the latest hardware and software that assists Unger Surveying & Construction to provide the highest quality services and product to their clients. Additionally, Matt handles the majority of the financial and accounting aspects of the company, with the help of his wonderful accountant wife. Outside of work Matt enjoys time with his wife, son, and two dogs and the occasional golf tournament.
